In May 2023, Chevron and MWCC exercised the deployment of a capping stack at the request of the Department of the Interior’s, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE). The capping stack was installed on a simulated subsea wellhead and pressure tested. This effort demonstrated the continued preparation and commitment by MWCC and our members to be continuously ready to respond to an offshore well containment incident in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
